No.12 USNA Midshipmen (5) vs. No.4 Michigan Wolverines (17)

Freshman Alexis Pavle had six goals and one assist to help the Wolverines thwart Navy’s bid for a second straight tournament upset. Senior Karen Anderson scored four goals and sophomore Ashley Steitz netted three for Michigan, which earned its fourth overall semifinal round berth and first since 2004. Navy, which finished as the tournament’s runner-up in 2001, was led by Valerie Chapdelaine’s two goals.
