Women's Club Lacrosse - First Round

No.12 USNA Midshipmen (10) vs. No.5 UC Santa Barbara (7)

Four goals by Kaylene Klingenstein and 11 saves by goalie Natalie Blandon helped the Mids pull off the only upset of the opening round. Navy built a four-goal halftime advantage, then withstood a second half surge by the Gauchos to earn a quarterfinal round match-up against Michigan. UCSB, a tournament semifinalist last year, was a first round loser for the first time in its three tournament appearances.
